ðŸ”ŦRules of Conflict Engagement

Roleplay before gun play. Conflict can be a key ingredient to great roleplay if done correctly.

Without a story, conflict can feel random and meaningless. It's important to establish what is at stake and why the conflict matters to the characters involved. This can be done through backstory, dialogue, and character development. As the conflict progresses, it should continue to build and escalate, with each obstacle or setback providing new challenges for the characters to overcome. By the end of the conflict, there should be a resolution that feels satisfying and true to the story that has been played out. Without a well-developed conflict, the RP can fall flat and fail to engage all parties involved. To help ensure that conflict scenarios can still be enjoyable for those involved please follow the rules below:

  1. Conflict must have a story and support its development.

  2. Both parties should know the reason and identity of their attacker before conflict.

  3. Initiation must be through roleplay, not KOS, flag/car/clothing colors, bounties, social media apps (squawk), or previous conflict.

  4. Live as if your character has only one life.

  5. Verbal initiation must occur before shooting, except in self-defense.
